Thoreau Evening Ramble, Monday, September 26, 5-6pm, 2016

Join park staff at the Thoreau house replica, near the main parking lot, for a program about Henry David Thoreau, his stay at Walden Pond, and his literary, environmental, and human rights legacy. This program is for visitors of all ages. We will hike along the pond 1/2 mile to the original location of Thoreau’s house. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water and sunscreen as appropriate. clip_image002

The tour will begin at the Thoreau house replica, near the parking lot.We will also walk a moderate ½ mile to the site where Thoreau once lived.

This is a free program but there is a $5 parking fee. No dogs are permitted unless they are working guides. In order to protect the water and landscape, Walden Pond has a visitor capacity; when capacity is reached the reservation closes for several hours. Join a Park Interpreter for an hour-long saunter along Walden Pond State Reservation’s trails.  We will explore Walden’s landscape as the calendar moves into summer.  This free program is open to visitors of all ages.  Please meet at the Thoreau house replica located near the main parking lot. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear.
