Ice Harvesting Demonstration, Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 11:00am to 1:30pm

Join historian and expert ice harvester, Dennis Picard, for an interactive program on the New England ice harvest. Learn about the ice trade operating at Ice Fort Cove during Thoreau’s stay at Walden.  11:00am at the Visitor Center: lecture by Dennis Picard; 12:30pm: if conditions permit, watch an ice harvesting demonstration off of Main Beach. If ice is not safe, then join a mile-long guided walk to Ice Fort Cove. Regular parking fees apply. $8 MA PLATES, $15 Non-MA PLATES
