Henry David Thoreau loved autumn and October was one of his favorite months of the year. Join “Thoreau” (portrayed by Richard Smith) for a Fall walk through Walden Woods. Meet at the Thoreau house replica. During the walk, Mr. Thoreau will read selections from his essay Autumnal Tints. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a free program, but there is a daily parking fee of $8 for Massachusetts plates, $10 out-of-state plates. No dogs are permitted unless working guide dogs. For more information, call (978) 369-3254. Sponsored by the Friends of Walden Pond, an activity of the Thoreau Society.
