“October is the month for painted leaves,” Henry David Thoreau wrote in his classic treatise on Fall called Autumnal Tints. Join a park interpreter to celebrate and learn the reasons behind New England’s autumn leaf colors during this hour-long walk. Wear sturdy shoes and please dress for the weather. This is a free program but there is an $8 per vehicle parking fee with Massachusetts plates, $10 with out-of-state plates. No dogs are permitted unless they are guide dogs. Park Programs are sponsored by the MA-DCR. For more information, call park staff at (978) 369-3254.
