Join in a celebration of Henry David Thoreau’s favorite places! This special series of events is offered together with Freedom’s Way and Mt. Wachusett State Reservation. Join Corinne H. Smith from the Thoreau Birth House at 7am for a Meditative Walk around Walden Pond. Please meet at the Thoreau house replica near the main parking lot. From 8:30 to 10am enjoy Living History with Henry David Thoreau, as portrayed by historian Richard Smith. Henry David will entertain visitors at the replica of his house recounting his stay at Walden Pond and his hike to Mt. Wachusett. This is a program for visitors of all ages. Learn some fun facts about spiders and help build a big spider web. Children and adults of all ages are welcome! Meet park interpreter at the Thoreau house replica.
