Thoreau’s Environmental Legacy Friday, August 9th and 23rd, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 24th, 2:00-3:00 p.m.


Join a park interpreter at the Thoreau house replica for a ½-mile walk to his original house site to learn about Thoreau’s environmental legacy. We will explore themes in Thoreau’s life and writing such as conservation, voluntary simplicity, and scientific record-keeping. We will also learn how the modern environmental movement was influenced by Thoreau’s philosophy and discover many of the people who followed in his footsteps.
