Walden Pond, Main Beach 12pm-2pm October 7, 2012 – Thoreau and his Boat

Henry David and John Thoreau Jr., built a boat, the Musketaquid, in which they drifted and rowed from Concord Massachusetts, to Concord New Hampshire, and back. Later, while living at Walden Pond, Henry David Thoreau wrote A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers, an account of that trip that combined currents of history, literature, and philosophy. Meet Henry, portrayed by historian Richard Smith, as he paddles the Musketaquid to the main beach at Walden Pond, where he will share his thoughts about that trip.
